As I finished reading Marley and Me by John Grogan, it brought back those fun memories of growing up with a family pet. My dog "Curly" was a black and white mutt that was part daschund and part chow. Yes I know interesting mix-picture head and body of a chow on little short stubby legs. Best memory about Curly was that she dragged around a piece of chain and never left the yard even though the chain was never connected to anything and that she would lay on her back and chew bubble gum upside down if she would find a stray piece someone had spit out. She was a good sport considering I tried to perm her fur in the bathtub with Mom's sponge curlers!
I'm glad my kids had Daisy until she passed away this winter and Lady the Lab to create their memories with.
Maybe I should take my own advice...
